To create a nontraditional depiction
of the wild west and provide your guests
with a memorable and elegant evening of
How the West Wasn't. This design creates
an evening of contrast, dimension and
character. The black and white pattern
of cowhide, applied in a variety of ways,
creates the composition for this evening.
The perimeter of the room/area is decorated
with white fence vignettes accented with
cowboy boot silhouettes and western dress
accents. Conestoga buffet wagons complete
this nontraditional look at the Wild West!
This evening celebrates the color and
excitement of our south of the border
friends! We proceed to the US/Mexico border
crossing station. Large, colorful arches,
decorated with American, Mexico and Arizona
flags, designate the crossing point into
Cuidad "Fiesta".
CONCEPT: This evening celebrates the color
and excitement of our south of the border
friends!
A spectacular visual array of color, shapes
and lights greet the guests as they enter
the mercado area. Colorful arches, brightly
decorated buffet vendor carts create theme
vignettes about the area. The fun, flavor
and excitement of south of the border is
savored in this unique celebration!
The late 1800's were a time of growth
for the West. Wealthy gentlemen from
the East headed out to the wilds of
the western frontier to make their fortune
in cattle ranching.
Not wanting to forego the comfort and
pleasantries of the lifestyle they left
behind, these pioneering men brought
the luxuries they were accustomed to
with them. Rich draperies, artwork,
tapestries, silver ornaments, a variety
of musical instruments, books and gaming
tables were a few of the articles that
were transported from the East, and
eventually were placed in the private
clubs that were built throughout the
West during this period.
Set against the natural beauty of The
Westin La Paloma, this event design provides
an indigenous and colorful representation
of the Southwest. In celebration of time
long ago, the Kokopelli is present in
art-like form throughout the event area
and table design. This ancient art motif,
combined with vivid colors and strong
lighting, creates a modern and festive
presence to this setting.
Uniquely American For hundreds
of thousands of motorcyclists, the Harley
Davidson marquee represents an expression
of human spirit enjoyed by no other
brand of vehicle, whether two or four
wheeled. Harley Davidson is a name that
is synonymous with a distinctive attitude
and proud lifestyle. This evening provides
the opportunity for guests to experience
the past, present and future of a true
icon of American history - the spirit
of the open road.
Stars are numerous beyond
comprehension. Scattered like diamond
chips across the cosmos, the stars look
deceptively serene to the earthbound
observer. Although their lives may be
measured in billions of years, stars
do age and die. Some go quietly, cooling
into dark remnants of their former splendor.
Others collapse and explode in a shattering
cataclysm. But even as old stars vanish,
new ones are being born in the gaseous
stellar nurseries of the Universe. Set
against the natural beauty of The Westin
La Paloma, this evening celebrates the
spectacular desert night skies and
what may lie beyond.
The raw splendor of a sunset on Arizona
cliff walls is an awe-inspiring sight.
The vibrant colors blaze in a fury of
reds and oranges. Native Americans came
to the Southwest 12,000 years ago. In
these early times people were hunters
and gatherers of wild plants. Following
a nomadic way of life, they lived in
small family groups and hunted with
the migrations of the game. The only
record we have of these wanderers is
their pictures on stone called petroglyphs.
The many interpretations of the whispers
from the past range from depictions
of the hunting cycle to vision quests
to the doodlings of children. No matter
what their origins, these pictures on
the stone speak to all of us from a
time when wind and stone and sky were
the dominant forces of man's exixtence.
The contrast of soft, flowing white fabric,
dynamic lighting and an elegant table
design combine to create a dramatic back
drop for a memorable evening.
Large white fabric fans, enhanced with
copper lame' accents and bathed in shafts
of muted light, softly embrace the dining
and stage area of the ballroom. These
lush fabric pieces frame four foot tall
black columns with lighting enclosed within
the obelisk. Tall glass vases, filled
with delicately copper curly willow branches
and bold stems of white gladiolus, are
placed on top of the column tops. The
lighting from within the columns emphasizes
the naturally graceful lines of the branches
and flower blossoms.
The elegant design of the dining tables
echoes the surrounding ballroom beauty
and theme. Copper lamour tablecloths and
napkins dress the tables. Chairs are attired
in copper lamour chairs covers with matching
chair sash tie. The table center features
glass bowls filled with ivory roses and
copper accented italian ruskus. Ivory
café lamps and votive candle lighting
provide add the finishing touch to this
beautiful setting.
The contrast of soft, flowing white fabric,
the glitter of gold and patterned lighting
creates a dramatic backdrop for a memorable
evening. Large, white fans, enhanced with
gold accents and bathed in shafts of amber
light, softly embrace the dining area
of the ballroom. The elegantly attired
dining tables echo the surrounding ballroom
beauty and theme. Crisp, white table cloths
and napkins dress the table tops. Artfully
designed florals of lillies with delicate
white dendrobium orchids, white roses
and greenery accents are displayed on
crushed gold lame' "pillows".
Soft votive candle lighting provides additional
elegance to this setting.
